Meet the Doctor

Dr. Pratik Savaj —
In His Own Words

Watch Dr. Savaj explain his approach to infectious disease diagnosis — why culture comes before antibiotics, how he evaluates fever that won’t resolve, and what patients should expect at IID Hospital.

01

Culture before every antibiotic

A blood culture is sent before every antibiotic is started or changed — not after three failed courses.

02

TB and HIV excluded at the first visit

Not assumed to be viral fever. GeneXpert and 4th-generation HIV tests ordered on day one.

03

A diagnosis before discharge

Every patient leaves knowing what they have — not an empirical prescription and “come back if it gets worse.”

04

Treatment Plan

Evidence-based. Culture-guided. No empirical antibiotics — a diagnosis before treatment.

05

Follow-Up Care

Viral load, drug sensitivity, treatment response — monitored to completion.

Why IID Hospital

What Makes a Subspecialist Different

A general physician treats infections broadly. An FNB-certified ID subspecialist treats them with depth that changes outcomes — especially for HIV, TB, resistant organisms, and unresolved fever.

FNB Qualified

Only FNB-certified ID specialist in South Gujarat — not a general physician.

No Referral Needed

Walk in directly. No GP letter required. Same-day appointments available.

Culture First

Blood culture sent before every antibiotic change. A diagnosis before treatment.

Full Confidentiality

HIV, STI, and all sensitive consultations. HIV Act 2017 compliant throughout.

Same-Day Results

NS1, malaria smear, dengue, typhoid — most critical diagnostics available same day.

Patient Education

Every patient leaves knowing their diagnosis, treatment, and what to watch for.

FAQ

Common Questions

Answered by Dr. Pratik Savaj, FNB Infectious Diseases — IID Hospital, Vesu & SCID-AI, Nanpura, Surat.

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Savaj?
No. IID Hospital operates as a direct-access specialist clinic. Walk in during clinic hours (Mon–Sat: 11 AM–1 PM and 4–6 PM) or call/WhatsApp +91 92747 93759 to confirm availability. No GP letter required.
Is my HIV or STI consultation confidential?
Completely. IID Hospital complies with the HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017. Your HIV status or any diagnosis is never shared without your explicit written consent — not with family members, employers, or any third party.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring all previous blood test reports (even normal ones), prior prescriptions, imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, CT), and a list of current medications. For fever: note the exact start date, temperature pattern, and associated symptoms such as rash, joint pain, or cough.
Is Dr. Savaj the only infectious disease specialist in the area?
Dr. Pratik Savaj holds an FNB in Infectious Diseases — a dedicated 2-year post-MD subspecialty fellowship completed at P.D. Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. He is one of very few such specialists in all of Gujarat.
What if my fever has lasted more than 7 days?
Fever beyond 7 days without a confirmed diagnosis is not viral fever — it is an undiagnosed condition. At IID Hospital, blood culture is collected before any antibiotic is started or changed. TB and HIV are excluded at the first visit. A systematic workup produces a diagnosis.
Can I get PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) at IID Hospital?
Yes. PEP must be started within 72 hours of HIV exposure. Call +91 92747 93759 immediately if you have had a needlestick, sexual contact with a known HIV-positive person, or any high-risk exposure. Do not delay — every hour matters.
